Air Algérie

Under the patronage of H.E. President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the Algeria Economic Forum shall be held on 20-21 January 2008 with the participation of several Algerian, Arab and foreign officials along with a group of Chief Executive Officers from the world of business and finance, investors in Algeria and Arab countries, and CEOs of investment funds and institutions as well as Arab and international finance institutions.

Algeria witnessed in the past few years the influx of large investment groups from the Gulf region notably, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Lebanon and Tunisia, with projects in the domains of real estate development, infrastructure, telecommunications, banking, industry, tourism and others. Moreover, Algeria announced the launching of an economic, social and services developmental program with a cost of more than 150 billion US Dollars for the next three years, which shall eventually create many opportunities for investors in various fields.

The Algeria Economic Forum is organized by the Ministry for participation and promotion of Investment, the Algerian Chamber of Trade and Industry, and Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group. The forum covers several topics among which: the perspectives of economics and reform programs, the investment climate within the framework of law and incentives, the impact of international conventions on investment, the development program and the privatization projects as well as the opportunities resulting thereof, the role of the private sector as partner in development and an overview of Arab and international investment experiences.

Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group organized the first forum on July 2000 and the second forum on April 2002, both under the patronage of the President of the Republic and the participation of the Prime Minister and most cabinet ministers as well as prominent officials from the finance, investment and economic sectors from more than 19 Arab and foreign countries.
