MBC Group was established in 1991 when it launched the first pan-Arab free-to-air satellite TV channel in the Arab World, the flagship channel is now an iconic brand in the region and boasts a strong commitment to local programming - from drama to reality TV - while adapting the best international formats to the culture of the region.

In 2003, MBC group launched MBC2, the world’s first free-to-air 24 hour movie channel packed with international blockbusters of all genres.

MBC2 was the world’s first free-to-air 24 hour movie channel and continues to delight viewers with international blockbusters of all genres. Boasting back to back big screen entertainment, MBC2 provides a non-stop at-home cinema experience.

MBC2 also offers Movies in Motion, a multimedia, bilingual, interactive, on-line movie club that targets youth and movie buffs alike.

To cater to younger viewers, MBC3 first aired in 2004 and was quickly established as the premiere junior entertainment channel in the Middle East.

MBC4 was introduced in 2005 to cater to the modern Arab woman; it offers a range of drama, comedy, reality TV and magazine shows complimented by I-matter, a multiplatform interactive network that brings the community of young Arab women together.

Bringing the best of Action programming to Arab audiences throughout the region, MBC Action was launched in 2007 and immediately proved a ‘must see’ for a young, male audience.

2008 marked yet another milestone for MBC Group as two additional movie channels are introduced to the Middle East. MBC Persia was launched earlier this year and offers the best in global movies from a wide range of blockbusters of all genres such as comedy, action, drama, romance all subtitled in Farsi.

MBC also offers two radio stations to listeners in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and parts of the Gulf. MBC FM, the Leading radio station in the region, was originally launched in 1994 and continues to provide the best in Khaleeji gulf music, poetry and entertainment. Panorama FM offers classical music, news and talk shows to the youth audience.

Al Arabiya News Channel is a dedicated, full-time news channel created to fulfill the demand by Arab audiences for trustworthy, relevant and unbiased news. Launched in 2003, Al Arabiya is now a leading channel in the region and has raised the bar in terms of news delivery thanks to its credible political, business and financial news, breaking News and balanced reporting.

Recently, MBC introduced Haya MBC, a weekly lifestyle publication in Arabic producing original articles and exclusive interviews.
