The 3rd Cairo Investment Forum

The 3rd Cairo Investment Forum will be held at the Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel in Cairo on 21-22 December 2008. The Forum is expected to attract government ministers and high-level officials from Egypt and the Arab world, in addition to banking, investment and business leaders in the region and internationally.

This year's Forum, organized by Egypt's Ministry of Investment and the General Authority for Investment & Free Zones (GAFI) and Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group, acquires added significance as strong growth and a serious process of economic reform continue in Egypt creating an increasing number and range of investment opportunities, against the backdrop of major developments underway in the regional and international economies.

The 3rd Cairo Investment Forum will focus on the following topics:

  • Inflation and its potential impact on economic growth and possible policy measures to tackle it.
  • Remaining investment obstacles in Egypt and government efforts to remove them.
  • The coincidence of real and disguised unemployment with growing shortages of skills, and the priority of developing education and training programs.
  • Egypt's success in increasing industrial exports and problems that still face the industrial sector.
  • Economic and financial benefits from foreign investment in Egypt and prospects for future investment.
  • Tourism and real estate development projects and resultant investment opportunities.
  • Performance of the IT sector in Egypt and prospects.
  • Gas and alternative power projects.

The Forum will be an ideal opportunity to acquire an in-depth knowledge of the investment environment and investment opportunities in Egypt, and to network with decision makers from both the public and private sectors.
