Al Iktissad Wal Aamal Group and the Ministry of Finance in Kuwait, are organizing the Kuwait Investment Forum which will take place at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel on November 2 and 3, 2008.

The Forum is expected to attract wide participation and attendance from top government officials in Kuwait, the Gulf and the Arab world, central bankers and the heads of major banks in the region, financial and investment institutions, business leaders, experts, representatives of major Arab and international media organizations, and others.

The Kuwait Investment Forum, the first conference of its kind in Kuwait, will take a close look at Kuwait's development strategy and at investment opportunities in its economy and burgeoning project activity, but will also range over a number of other major issues of the hour in Kuwait and the Gulf, including the following:

• Prospects for Kuwait as a regional financial and commercial center: The requirements and challenges.
• Issues of inflation, the weak dollar, Gulf currency pegs, and progress of Gulf economic union.
• Investment prospects and opportunities in ongoing and future real estate and tourism development projects in Kuwait.
• Infrastructure development and the role open to private sector participation. Developments in the Kuwaiti oil sector and related services.
• Commercial and Islamic banking in Kuwait and the rest of the Gulf, and its growing role in project finance and promoting domestic investment activities.

The forum includes open discussion sessions with Kuwaiti ministers and other policy makers on economic policy, the investment environment, investment opportunities, and other issues.
