The 3rd Middle East Insurance Forum

The 3rd Middle East Insurance Forum is scheduled to take place on March 20-21, 2006 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Bahrain, under the patronage of the Governor of the Bahrain Monetary Agency.

The Forum, organized by Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group, the Bahrain Monetary Agency, and in cooperation with the Bahrain Insurance Association is being held at a time of growth for the Arab insurance industry. In 2004 total premiums reached USD 8.5 billion, with an increase of 12%, as compared to the previous year. The insurance sector is facing significant structural changes such as, fast demographic changes, booming oil prices and real estate projects, more open markets along with radical economic reforms, privatization on public assets, introduction of health and motor compulsory insurance and Takaful insurance.

Experts from Arab and International insurance and reinsurance companies, regulatory agencies, educational institutions, brokers, banking and finance organizations, will address

the Forum in the interest of finding adequate solutions to unresolved issues which will lead to unlocking new potentials in the Arab insurance markets.

The Forum will discuss the major issues facing the industry such as, the impact of the WTO and international agreements on the Arab insurance sector, building confidence in the Arab Insurance sector, developing the medical insurance and retirement plans on a regulatory and corporate basis, the impact of global natural disasters on regional pricing trends, bancassurance: a high potential for growth, the changing insurance landscape toward a more consolidated market and transforming the positive socio-economic changes into real growth in the Middle East insurance markets.

The 3rd Middle East Insurance Forum is the ideal place to meet the insurance decision-makers, offering participants the opportunity to become central players in the Arab insurance industry.
