H. E. Bahiya Al Hariri, Minister of Education and Higher Education- Lebanon
H.E. Hariri is the Minister of Higher Education in Lebanon.
H.E. is also the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Education and Culture Committee of Lebanon.
H.E. is also Deputy of the Lebanese Parliament and Ambassador of goodwill to the UNESCO and member of the Advisory Committee on Women in the Islamic Development Bank.
H.E. Hariri holds a degree in Education from the Lebanese University.
H. E. Tamam Salam, Minister of Culture- Lebanon
H.E. Salam is the Minister of Culture in Lebanon.
H.E. is also the Head of the Islamic Charitable Society and Head of Saeb Salam Foundation for Culture and Higher Education.
H.E. was elected a Deputy in the Parliament of Lebanon and had legislative contributions in the political framework; he also contributed in pursuing educational and social issues. His priorities were to achieve the legislations and standpoints to support democracy and public freedoms in addition to prosecuting projects addressing and resolving daily citizenship problems.

H.E. Louisa Hanoun, Secretary General- Workers Party- Algeria
Ms. Louisa Hanoun is the General Secretary of the Workers Party in Algeria and Member of the National People's Congress.
In 1985, Ms. Hanoun co- founded the Association for Gender Equality before the Law, in which she held the position of General Secretary, and became later the President of the association.
In 1989 she became "Spokesperson" of the Workers Party, after which she was elected General Secretary of the party.
Elected in 1997 at the National People's Assembly, she was the Party’s candidate in the first presidential elections in Algeria in 1999.
Ms. Louisa Hanoun is a founding member of the International Liaison Committee of Workers and Peoples, and is also an honorary member of the International Committee against Repression, and the Committee of Women Workers.
H.E. Mahinur Ozdemir, Member of Brussels Regional Parliament- Brussels
Born in 1982 in Brussels, Ms. Mahinur Ozdemir completed her studies at the ULB in Public Administration and Human Resources. Throughout her studies, she helped develop the family business.
She was a founding member of the Turkish students circle “the Turquoise” in 2004. This circle has as objective to support students of the ULB during their studies, to know the Turkish culture and cultural interchange.
The same year, she became a member of a political party “the HRC” and participated actively in meetings of her local branch and party Congress. Ms. Mahinur Ozdemir is currently the youngest consultant in the municipality of Schaerbeek. At the same time she works with the party and gives regular trainings in citizenship.
In April 2009, she got the 11th and last seat of her party in the Parliament of Brussels, and became the youngest member of the Region and Country. She is in charge of environmental commissions, planning and social affairs.
H.E. Maysa Rashed Ghadeer, Member of Federal National Council- UAE
H.E. began her career as an Arabic teacher and then moved to the field of media as a Researcher at the Executive Office of the Emirate of Dubai. She also served as the Public Relations Manager for the Chairman of Sama Dubai.
H.E. Ms. Ghadeer is considered to be one of the leading columnists in the UAE, with daily articles published in Al Bayan Newspaper, where she addresses social, economic, political and cultural issues.
Participated in local, Arab and international meetings, forums and conferences, H.E. Ms. Ghadeer also appeared on numerous television and radio programs.
H.E. Sima Bahous, Assistant Secretary General for Social Affairs, League of Arab States, Egypt
Dr. Bahous is currently the Assistant Secretary General for Social Affairs at the League of Arab States. She was previously the President of the Higher Media Council in Jordan, Advisor to his Majesty King Abdullah II, Executive Director of the Noor Al Hussein Foundation and the King Al Hussein Foundation, Communication Officer at the UNICEF in Amman and Communication Advisor at WHO EMRO.
Dr. Bahous also taught at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Yarmouk University in Jordan, and worked as Advisor on Media and Development for a number of UN and International organizations.
Dr. Bahous holds a PhD in Mass Communications from Indiana University in USA, Master’s degree in Literature and Drama from Essex University in UK and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Jordan University.
Dr. Suhair Al Qurashi, Dean of Dar Al-Hekma College- KSA
Dr. Suhair Hassan Al-Qurashi is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Dar Al-Hekma College, one of the first leading private Colleges for women in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She has served in several positions at this distinguished institution of higher learning. She was the Interim Dean of the College and was appointed Dean later. She served as the Deputy Project Manager for the design and establishment of Dar Al-Hekma College.
Dr. Al Qurashi received a Ph.D. in Education (evaluation of higher Education) and M.P.E. in Educational Research from Cambridge University, U.K. in addition to a Master’s degree in "Managing the institutional development".
Dr. Al-Qurashi received award of distinction for achievement of ISO certification by the Project Director of King Fahd Armed Forces hospital for leading the successful accreditation process. She is the president and founding member of the Jeddah health care quality club; a member of the American national association of health care quality professionals and member of the international society for quality assurance in health Care (ISQA).
Mrs. Nathalie Pilhes, Director of Migrations, Justice and Security issues for Mediterranean Union, Responsible of Gender issues, French Republic Presidency- Mediterranean Union Mission- France
Mrs. Nathalie Pilhes is the Director of migration, justice and security issues for the Mediterranean Union, responsible for the Gender issues in the French Republic Presidency.
She previously worked as a Deputy Major of Paris in charge of women’s rights, a deputy Director in the Interdepartmental Committee for the Prevention of Delinquency. She was also an inspector of administration at the General Inspection Administration (IGA).
Among her many diplomas, Mrs. Nathalie holds MA degree in Russian language and civilization, diploma in Public Service, a degree in English Language and History and a Postgraduate Diploma (DEA) in Political Science from Paris I University , Sorbonne.
Mrs. Pilhes has a collection of French and foreign publications in addition to 2 collective books.
Prof. Pascal Monin, Professor of Information and Communication and International Relations, Lebanon
Mr. Pascal Monin is a Professor and University Researcher in Public Relations and Media and Communication Affairs. He holds a PHD from the government in Public Pelations and Contemporary History from the Sorbonne University, Paris.
The founder of media and communication platform and the founder and supervisor of Kalam Magazine, Mr. Pascal has many studies, articles and lectures regarding the Lebanese political and international and media and technical communication and francophone affairs. He is the author of “thoughts for Lebanon-freedom through punishment” published by Dar Al Nahar.
Dr. Shucri Husni, General Director, School Development Consultants (SDC)- Lebanon
Mr. Husni Shukri is currently the Chairperson of the School Development Consultants. He previously held the position of a General Director at the Adma International School in Lebanon, a Principal and Development and Curriculum Consultant at Broumana High School in Lebanon. He was the School Principal at Muscat Private School in The Sultanate of Oman, Assistant Director and Career Guidance Officer at the International College, Beirut. Mr. Shukri also held part time positions in his teaching experience as an Assistant Professor to reputable Lebanese universities.
Volunteered as the Co-ordinator of Peace Education Team for Lebanon in UNICEF in Lebanon, Mr. Husni is also the Co-ordinator of American DODD’s Schools Book Donations AMIDEAST, Lebanon.
Mr. Husni holds a Licence in Education and is a Certified School Principal from Trenton State College, New Jersey. He is also a Ph.D. Candidate in History, holds a MA in Philosophy and BA Philosophy/History from the American University of Beirut.
Dr. Layla Fayad, President, Center for Educational Research and Development (CERD), Lebanon
Dr. Layla Maliha Fayad is the President of the Educational Center for Research and Development, Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Lebanon.
Dr. Leila holds a Doctorate in French language and literature from the University of Lyon III, France.
She practiced the French language teaching and literature in intermediate and secondary levels, then tutored in the Lebanese University where she worked as an Assistant Professor in language and literature and civilizations. She also instructed in French language materials, French literature, translation, and teaching methodologies at the University of Balamend, Faculty of Arts. Dr. Leila taught at the Lebanese University; section III of the Faculty of Arts as a professor in French language, French literature and civilizations, while instructing as a University Professor in competent translation at the Islamic University, Department of languages.
Member of the Board of Directors of the National Employment Institute (Lebanese Ministry of Labor) since 2002, as well as member of the Board of the Lebanese Civil Aviation Administration.
Dr. Aman Kabbara Chaarany, President- Lebanese council of Women- Lebanon
Dr. Aman Kabbara Chaarany, holder of a PhD Doctorate Degree, was the Director of the Faculty of Education in the Lebanese University. She is currently the President of Educational Development Organization and the President of the Lebanese Council of Women. She is also the President of the Civil Committee responsible for following up on women’s issues.
Her publications include 15 books and researches in Local, Regional and international conferences in 3 domains: Education, women issues and Islamic issues. She participated in organizing conferences, seminars and courses, her responsibilities include supervising Masters and PhD thesis.
Dr. Aman Kabbara Chaarany Received Official Badges from civil and governmental organizations and the Republic Cedar’s Medal-Knight Rank.
Mrs. Leila Serhan, Country Manager, Lebanon, & Other Indirect Markets- Microsoft- Lebanon
Ms. Leila joined Microsoft as the Financial Controller for the Eastern Mediterranean subsidiary then moved to the marketing department, holding the Marketing Manager position for three years.
Promoted to become the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and Solution Partners Manager for Microsoft Eastern Mediterranean and Pakistan, Ms. Leila was responsible for the sales and marketing strategy and operations for the SME group, as well as the Microsoft partner’s ecosystem and Microsoft Dynamics.
Her continuous success led her to become the Business Operations Manager for Microsoft North Africa, Eastern Mediterranean and Pakistan, as well as handling a number of strategic projects with Microsoft International related to setting up new operations in emerging markets.
Ms. Serhan graduated from the American University of Beirut with a Bachelor and MBA degrees in Business Administration.
Dr. Nahawand Al- Qadiri, Professor, Lebanese university- Lebanon
Dr. Nahawand El Kadri Issa is a writer and Member of The Lebanese Association of Women Researchers and a Member of the Academic Research Management Committee of the Higher Doctoral Institute Arts and Social Sciences, Lebanese University, Lebanon.
She Participated in many reports mainly Arab women and media, CAWTAR and UNIFEM, her main research subjects on Media and Society and Gender and Development.She aims towards empowering women in media to achieve equity between men and women citizens”, “Analysis of a sample of ‘women and media’ and ‘women and law’ studies in Lebanon, implemented by the Hariri Foundation for Human Development.Dr. Issa, completed a study on Media Regional Campaign Strategy and action plan on” Good Urban Governance “and “Secure tenure”, intending to support initiatives of ESCWA member States.
Dr. Issa holds a Doctorate in the science of Mass Media and Communication from Paris II, Sorbonne University, France. She is currently a Professor at the Lebanese University, Faculty of Information and Documentation, Lebanon.
Dr. Khawla Al Kuraya, Director Department of Human Cancer Genomic Research, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, KSA

Dr. Khawla Al- Kuraya obtained her medical degree from King Saud University, she then enrolled in the Pathology Residency program at Georgetown University Hospital, USA in 1995. After she obtained her board certification in clinical pathology, she did her fellowship in Molecular Diagnostics in the National Cancer Institutes, USA.

She is a Consultant/ Principal Clinical Scientist in King Faisal Hospital and Research Center. She was also appointed as the Director of the department of Human Cancer Genomic Research, Research Center at King Fahad National Center for Children’s Cancer until the present. She produced many publications in international Peer reviewed journal and presented her data in international meetings and local conferences.

Dr. Al- Kuraya is a member of several association and institute such as the College of American Pathologist, the American association for Cancer Research, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology… She actively participates in international meetings relating to cancer research. She is also involved in collaborative activities, both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Virna Ramazzini, Associated consultant, Vallhala Associate- UAE

Dr. Virna is an associated consultant in Valhalla Associates, an international consultancy and Management Company based in London and specialized in luxury leisure real estate in Europe, Middle East and Africa. She is a senior executive with significant experience in hospitality and leisure real estate management and development

Most recently Dr. Virna was General Manager, Hospitality, Leisure & Sport with Bloom Properties in Abu Dhabi responsible for the strategy and development within their master plan projects in Abu Dhabi and internationally. Prior to this, Dr. Virna was Director Business Development for Ruwaad Holdings in Dubai, focusing on the devel opment of business partnerships with international entertainment park operators, hospitality operators, fashion and lifestyle brands for large scale destination projects in the Middle East and Africa region.

Dr. Virna has also held the position as Director of Operations for the Accor hotel complex in the Dubai World Trade Center; and for 9 years covered various management positions in hospitality in Dubai, Sofitel Paris Forum Rive Gauche in Paris and Disneyland Paris Hotel Complex. Dr. Virna holds a doctorate in Middle English literature from Bologna University and a Bachelor in Tourism and Travel from the Tourism Management School in Mantova, Italy

Mrs. Lina Abou-Habib, Executive Director of Collective for Research and Training on Development- Action (CRTD-A), Lebanon

Mrs. Lina Abou-Habib is the Executive Director of the Collective for Research and Training on Development-Action (CRTD.A www.crtda.org.lb and www.lkdg.org) which is based in Beirut and is involved in research, field intervention and advocacy on gender and citizenship, gender and economic rights and leadership. CTRD.A is a member of the Women Learning Partnership-International and is also the Middle East and Gulf antenna of the International Gender and Trade Network. Mrs. Lina is the Secretary of the Board of Directors of AWID as well as programme advisor for the Global Fund for Women and Editorial Board member of the “Gender and Development Journal” published by Oxfam UK.

Ms. Rania Baroud, Presenter & producer of social TV shows & University Professor- Lebanon
One of her most successful TV shows is “L Hal B’Eidak broadcasted on New TV channel from 2004 to 2007.
Currently, she produces and presents “Jalsit Nisaa” on The Future channel, a show dedicated to Arab women related issues taking into considerations men’s opinions.
Ms. Baroud is also a university media professor at Al Antoniya University, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information from the University of Sorbonne in Paris.
Ms. Baroud always worked in the social domain and has been a member in more than 12 associations and civil committees concerned in the affairs of children, youth, disabled individuals, prisoners and Christian-Muslim dialogues.
She is currently responsible for the information of the Association “A free life without smoking”.
Mr. Ziad Al Ayoubi, Local Development Expert, Lebanon
Mr. Ziad Al Ayoubi holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in the Sociology of Development from the Lebanese University.
He worked in the Local Economic Development Domain for more than eight years in the poorest areas of Lebanon.
Active in the field of Civic Action, he is member of the Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections and the Association of University Lecturers in the north, and is currently working for the United Nations Development Program in North Lebanon.
Dr. May Chidiac, Founder of MCF (May Chidiac Foundation)- Media Institute and Professor of journalism at Notre Dame University- Lebanon

Ms. Chidiac is currently the Head of the recently announced May Chidiac Foundation Media Institute.
She previously hosted a weekly Talk Show “Kalam Mass’oul, a daily political show “Nharkom Saiid and a weekly Event Program “Bikol Joraa” on the Lebanese Broadcasting Company – LBCI. She was also the Press Attaché at the Lebanese Embassy in Bern, Switzerland and the Assistant Professor of Mass Communication Department, faculty of Humanities at Notre Dame University.
She was decorated several local and international awards and medals and published a biography book “Le Ciel M’attendra” in French, German, Italian and soon in Arabic.
Ms. Chidiac holds a PhD, High Distinction, in Science de L’Information et de la Communication from the Université Pantheon Paris II Assas and a Master’s degree in Journalism from the Lebanese University.
Mr. Nabil Maalouf, Managing Director- Euro RSCG Sharp Pencil- Lebanon
Mr. Nabil Maalouf, specialized in Advertising and Media Training, holds an MBA from the American University of Beirut and has a trainer certificate in Media Training from Media Training Worldwide New York.
He is currently the Managing Director/Partner of the Euro RSCG Beirut, previously worked at Leo Burnett then started up a local agency, Sharp Pencil that was later bought by Euro RSCG. He trained political parties, members of parliament, top military personnel, NGO’s, CEO’s and boards of directors of local and international companies in Lebanon, Oman, and Ajman on how to face the media.
Mr. Maalouf is an IAA member, Member of the Advertising Association of Lebanon, Representative of Media Training Worldwide in the Middle East and a Member of the RDCL.
Mrs. Soraya Narfeldt, Chairman- RA International FZCO - UAE
Mrs. Soraya Narfeldt is the Owner and Chairman of RA International, a company specializing in reconstruction assistance in post-crisis areas. Prior to her current position, she worked as a volunteer for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Afghanistan with the Demobilization, Disarmament and Reintegration Program of the United Nations in Afghanistan. An entrepreneur at heart, she has run businesses in West Africa, the UK and the Middle East. A strong advocate and supporter of responsible business practices and local entrepreneurship, Mrs. Narfeldt has contributed articles on the subject to a number of recognized journals such as the Forced Migration Review, oil review and IPOA and consults regularly with Government Officials in various African countries advising on Aid Funded Projects, Corporate Social Responsibility and supporting local entrepreneurs.
Mr. Nakhle El Hage, Director of News and Current Affairs- Al Arabiya News Channel- UAE
Mr. El Hage currently the Director of News and Current Affairs at Al Arabiya News Channel.
He joined MBC Group in London and was the first Arab news editor in a Pan-Arab satellite channel and was among the first to contribute in Arabizing technology in the news business. He established the department of Current Affairs and was responsible for the launching of 15 different programs.
Before joining MBC Group, Mr. El Hage started his career in radio as editor and presenter for Voice of Lebanon (VOL) radio station in Beirut. He later moved to television becoming a reporter for Tele Liban.
Mrs. Amal Masri, Founder and Director General of Ougarit Co, for Marketing, Communications and Media- Palestine
Amal Daraghmeh Masri,40, is the General Manager and founder of Ougarit Co. for Marketing,communications,and Media, as well as the co-founder, with her husband and Partner Khaled Masri, of Al Qalam Printing and Publishing Co Company. She recently founded Ougarit Real Estate Co. as well. Chairwoman and founding member of the Business Women Forum of Palestine. Founding Member and Board Member of the Mena Businesswomen Network.
Mrs. Masri has previously worked in the private, governmental, and the diplomatic sectors, as well as a university teacher in Nablus and Tulkarem. She studied Methodologies, Marketing, Communications, Protocol, and Economics in French Universities. She also has a Diploma in Economics from the Sorbonne University, Paris, married with three children, 2 daughters and one son (14,11,5).
Mr. Joseph Issaoui, Poet, TV Presenter and Producer, Al- Hurra, Lebanon
Mr. Joseph Issaoui, is a poet and a journalist. He has presented many programs, some of which were considered highly controversial, and has written in various magazines and newspapers. He is currently the director and producer of “karib Jidan”, a cultural and social program that airs on Al Hurra Channel.
Mr. Tony Khalife, Editor-in-Chief of Kamar Magazine and Presenter, New TV, Lebanon
Mr. Khalife is currently the Editor of “Qamar” magazine.
He worked in the field of broadcast, written and visual journalism in political, mixed, and dialogue media. Different views were expressed on his presenting style. Some considered him bold, puts the finger on the wound and speaks for reality and others as provocative and seeks fame on the account of his guests. His most famous television shows were “Saa Bee Orbel Habib”, “Liman Yajroo”, “ Damaa Wa Ibtisama” and “Lilnasher”. He is finally in Cairo in a new program to channel people the “Why”.
Mr. Khalife holds a degree in Political Science.
Mrs. Fawziya Salama, Journalist and TV presenter- MBC- Egypt
Mrs. Fawziah Mahmoud Salameh holds a license in English Literature, Masters in literature critique and studied her Doctorate at the University of Sussex. She is currently a writer, editor and TV presenter.
Mrs. Salameh previously held many jobs and professions including: Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts in Ain Shames University, Department of English Language, and a Teaching assistant at the University of Dublin. She was the Editor and Author in the International Arab Newspaper, started as and is still the editor on a weekly column communicating with the youth, the Deputy Editor then the Editor in Chief for five years in the Saiedatty Magazine, in addition to being a full-time free-lance writer and editor of the books’ page in the Middle East newspaper.
Mrs. Fawzia is particularly proud of writing stories and considers her one novel and three books, especially her stories selections such as: The Other women, Wahdan’s street and The White Bed Novel as the harvest of an influential door and some of her life achievements.
Mrs. Cyba Audi, Producer & Presenter- Al- Arabiya News Channel- UAE
Ms. Cyba Audi, a producer and presenter for Al-Arabiya News Channel in Dubai, holds a BS in business from the American University of Beirut (AUB). Ms. Cyba helped conceptualize and launch "Al-Aswaq Al-Arabiya", which quickly became and remains the highest rated business news show on Arab Television. Ms. Cyba, a Lebanese by nationality, is well known for her insightful coverage and detailed analysis for business events, in addition to her ability and style of interviewing influential personalities and business leaders. She has traveled across the Arab world for live coverage of prominent business events and conferences. Prior to her career in television, Ms. Cyba had worked for 10 years as a financial consultant, most recently with Merill Lynch in London.
Mrs. Hanan Al Shaikh, Writer- London
Ms. Hanan Al-Shaykh, born and raised in Beirut, was educated in Cairo where she wrote her first novel at the age of nineteen before returning to Beirut to work as a journalist for Al-Nahar newspaper.
She later left Beirut because of the civil war and moved to the Arabian Gulf, dividing her time between London and the Gulf State for the next nine years. She then lived in London where she wrote her first two books, "Suicide of a Dear Man" and "The Praying Mantis", the only two works not translated into English. Her other novels are "The Story of Zahra", "Women of Sand and Myrrh", "Beirut Blues" and "Only in London". Hanan Al- Shaykh published her collection of stories:" I Sweep the Sun off Rooftops" in the US and then in England by Bloomsbury. Her new book "The Locust and the Bird: my mother's story" was also published by Bloomsbury.
Mrs. Leila Othman, Writer- Kuwait
Mrs. Leila Osman is a writer and member of the Association of Kuwaiti writers, the Arab Writers Union, the General Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists, and a member of Amnesty International and Human Rights.
Mrs. Osman has conducted several researches on women including: the discourse on women, violence against women film and novel, has been hampered women creativity, the image of women through the Kuwaiti art of narration and creativities and censorship. Participated in several Arab and international conferences and seminars like the Arab women and cultural creativity seminar, the Women's Union, Women and the Media Symposium in Tunisia, the culture of women in the Gulf conference held in Abu Dhabi and the conference of University of Charles de Gaulle for sciences ,humanities and women's associations. Mrs. Osman also participated in the celebration of Arab women on the verge of the twenty-first century and women's liberation conference to mark the centenary of the publication of the book “Qasim Amin”.
Mrs. Samar Al Mogren, Journalist and Writer, Bahrain

Mrs. Samar Al Mogren is a Saudi Journalist, Writer and Novelist. She was the head of the Community Section of the Saudi newspaper "Alwatan" (first Saudi woman to head a daily section not dedicated for women in a Saudi newspaper) where she was the editor and wrote the critics on the last page. She also wrote a column in the Emirate magazine "Bint Alkhaleej" and produced a program called "Imra'a Wa Akthar" to discuss issues of concern to Saudi women. Her journalistic achievements include conducting a conducted media campaign against the right of men to sell ladies’ underwear and wrote a number of news stories and reports that were covered by international news agencies. She took up the cases of women prisoners in Saudi Arabia and published tens of interviews, reports and pieces of news on this matter and many cases on violence and discrimination against women in the Saudi society.

Mrs. Samar Al-Mogren holds a BA of Education in pre-elementary education from King Saud University College of Education.

Mrs. Badriya El Becher, Writer- UAE
Dr. Al Bashr is the author of several publications, including short stories and doctorate thesis entitled ”Globalization Effects in Gulf Societies”. She also has Arab and International participations, and educational seminars as well as weekly columns in Al Yamama Newspaper, Al Riyadh Newspaper and Al Sharq Al Awsat in addition to several participations in the story telling evenings.
She holds the Kornzain Educational prize in Torino, Italy and the prize of public stories in addition to Sheikh Zaid's Prize in Abu Dhabi in the seminar on valuable book.
Dr. Al Bashr holds a doctorate degree in the Philosophy of Literature, Sociology, from the Lebanese University and a Masters degree in Philosophy and a BS in the Social Studies from King Faisal’s University in Riyadh.
Dr. Afaf El Batayna, Writer- UAE
Dr. Afaf Al-Bataineh is a novelist, professor and a narrator from Jordan.
She holds a Masters degree & Ph.D. in Philosophy, Arabic Literature, Linguistics & Translation from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, U.K.
She published "Kharij Al-Jasad "(Outside the Body), a novel in Arabic in 2004 by Al-Saqi Books expected to be followed by her second novel at the end of 2009.
Dar Al-Sawsan issued for Dr. Afaf two collections of short stories, the first one under the title of "Al-Itijah Al-Akhar" (The Other Direction) in 2000 and the second one under the title ‘Akr Imra’a" (Turbidity of a Woman) by Al-Markiz Al-Thaqafi Al-‘Arabi in 2004.
Dr. Al-Bataineh has a collection of academic researches published in periodicals and scientific magazines regarding the Arabic Novel and the literal analysis and cultural critique.
Ms. Randa Asmar, Actress- Lebanon
Ms. Asmar, an Actress graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University, Theater Section, is one of the most eminent Lebanese theatrical figures. She played many leading roles under the direction of the most famous theater directors in the Arab world like Raymond Jbara, Jawad Al-Assadi, Nidal Al-Achkar and many others.
Participated in a number of festivals and tours in Arab and European countries, Ms. Randa, won many prizes for some of her theater roles.
Ms. Asmar played major roles in many TV series and took part in many motion pictures such as “Martyrs” and “Paper Kite”, winner of the silver palm in the Festival of Venetia.
Mrs. Samar Yazbek, Writer- Syria
A Syrian novelist and media presenter, Mrs. Yazbek writes in several Arabic magazines and works in the press and television field. She produced and presented a cultural program on television titled "A Library Story” on the Syrian Satellite, and presented the program titled "Ladies First" on the Orient TV.
Mrs. Yazbek published a collection of stories entitled "Autumn Bouquet" and “Woman Vocabulary". She also published the novels: "Sky’s Girl", "Clay" and "Smell of Cinnamon".
Mrs. Yazbek authored 2 books, the first is on the life of the Syrian writer Ghada Al Samman, entitled: "Ghada Al Samman: Occupation: Rebel Writer" and the second entitled "Mount Lilies" a book of dreams.
Mrs. Yazbek is an activist in the women's right and freedom and worked for many years as a member in the Syrian women's team.
