The Qatar Economic Forum, organized by Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group and Qatar’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce, will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
Spurred by oil and gas revenues in the past few years, Qatar’s energy is currently being focused on natural gas development and exports as well as a series of internal reforms aimed at modernizing the country. Among the sectors benefiting from these reforms are industry, infrastructure, tourism and services, and the banking sector, which has played a role in financing these initiatives. This wave of modernization aims at increasing foreign direct investment by offering numerous incentives in to foreign participants in joint ventures through technology supply, market administration and equity participation.
The Qatar Economic Forum will bring together a number of high profile speakers from the region,
including ministers, senior Qatari government officials, executives from leading international corporations, bank executives and economic consultants.
The two-day forum will serve as an ideal opportunity for networking and discussion between public officials and business leaders.
